Breed Alone: Unemployment

 The good old by-products of being jobless: 

• every chick will ask you "so what do you do?" not that they're screening for "no buck no fuck" or anything like that. no bread and alone? breed alone
• prick "friends" that sit in judgement of you, asking/criticising if you're doing enough. Their opinion: it's your fault. funny, they probably see us as trash. But i think of Huck Finn, where the "nigger" Jim, low man  of society, calls the white guy  "trash" for treating his friend poorly
• sociopaths: scam artists on e.g. Craigslist, pressuring the unemployed to pay thousands to them, wire them money etc 
• sleeping in  the trash pile some more. less money, more need  for assistance, unemployment,   etc. And again suffering the guilt from your "friends" and family for milking the system, when unemployment isn't tax payer money, but insurance fees paid by businesses. 
• every one's winning, you're losing 
• right wing assholes (redundant?) like that Lieutenant  governor of S Carolina (surprise)  who says not to give anything to the poor since they will breed (again: bred alone).  and Bill  O'Reilly's hyper snobbery which  commented against folks stranded on roofs after Katrina like they were in a human zoo
• Left wing assholes like Tom Leykus:   "you're paid what you're worth"

Funeral Industrial Complex

how much? 

Now a lot of you know about my rants against the way- out -of -proportion costs of weddings. And many of you know that me and my family actually admit that funerals are often enjoyable (mini reunions, good thoughts of the deceased, get to dress up and socialize, catered meal etc). However, again, seemingly ridiculous  ritualistic costs: 

• the frigging casket: how much do these goddamn loads cost? A box of wood that you see for how long? (even shorter if you have an American flag draped, and if there's a cremation). Beautiful objects but worth that money? Not unless you're Tutankhamen maybe and the world sees it for thousands of years. 
• graveyards: like golf courses: seem like huge wastes of money for a middle/upper class taking up  lovely natural  areas. But you have to realize, not to be disrespectful,   it's really a field   of rotting corpses. And summing up ones life on  a yard by yard slab of rock? Insulting almost. 
• flowers: isn't it bad enough that  a loved one is dead, that we need  to then cut down beautiful living breathing helpful plants in the prime of their lives? 
• cremations, hearses, catered meals, funeral homes, houses of worship, ministers/priests etc, flights, yikes! 

Yes i know we want to deck the halls for our loved ones, but they're not even alert enough to enjoy it all! 

"Slurs" in the Right Context

im  someone who likes to write and hates  to have any words  limited. no word should be totally  off limits since any word can be used in not a mean spirited way, in the right context. examples: 

• Niggas Wid Attitudes
• Guinea t = wife beater (2nd probably more offensive)
• "we;re here, we're queer..."
• National Association for the Advancement of Colored People,
• "Jew ' is one of those words that can really change meaning depending on context, emphasis: "he's celebrating Rosh Shoshana since he's a Jew"---o.k. but: "we had a lot of brandy left, but the  Jew drank it all up". not nice. keep in mind that even Shakespeare used that one in a very negative way, see Merchant of Venice. 
• of course in my neighborhood of Harlem guys use the word "nigger'" all the time, as slang, describe each other etc. again, not as a put down. and no i don't agree that only those in the ethnic group can use it--yes, that's discrimination. 
• of course words for females can be used as put downs or badges of honor depending on how you use them etc: "that bitch!" (the 3rd person negative). "the bitch is back!", the 1st person declarative,  a more up to date "i am woman hear me harp"

Is Staten Island too Close to New Jersey?

•  it is of course literally close to Jersey
• aren't a majority  of those Jersey shore geniuses really from Staten Island?
• wasn't the Real World with maybe  the most champs  (saying a lot) the one that took place in Staten island? (have to say: thanks for the  brain tobacco MTV  producers!)
• NJ-like  inferiority complex: S.I was disproportionately big on hte subway maps that were used  for around 10 years (the whole island has i think one subway line. Manhattan has the most of course and it was relatively small). the recent new maps have put S.I smaller, appropriately (on a subway map, and it's by far the smallest borough in population)

and now some old time NY stereotypes in the mix: 

• recent immigrant beatings
• a mosque has been rejected in one of their neighborhoods after outspoken and public  bigotry against it. also the Catholic diocese that owned the land/building reneged on their deal (how many molestation accusations have been brought against imams  lately?)

yeah it seems rough. however as a tour guide i used to try to express the good places  of all the boroughs, for instance S.I: Museum of Tibetan art, zoo, botanical garden, Ferry of course. but i would love the bigotry, ignorance,  idiocy to stop. come on folks, the largest garbage dump in the world closes and this is what takes its place? 

Equinox Full Moon (no it's not the new Twilight book)

rare today, that we have the Equinox and a full Moon. near even amounts of day and night with top lunar brightness.

a lot of folks think a lot of bs about the Equinox: first day of Autumn (wrong: hottest days end around Labor day). me and many others used to say that it was the one day you can balance an egg on end (also wrong: can be done any day).

it's actually not that complicated: Equinox sounds like Equator. hence it's the exact time that the Equator lines up directly with the Sun. "Summer" in Tropics ( kind of), begin. darker days here, Sunnier days in SOuthern hemisphere. near equal light and dark most everywhere. that's about it. but again most technical: Equinox and Equator.

Are YOu a Whore?

the very definition of a whore is some one who's with some one else because he has money. he may be  a dick, not good looking, boring, old, but he has money and you stay. you're a whore.  if you're with someone because of his money (including, assets, cars, house, etc), you're a whore.

and you're not with anyone else who doesn't have money.  if you're not with some one else because they have no money, but let's say has everything else, humor, intellect, looks etc, you're again a whore.

by the way, that includes, very much so, first dates. and someone who can't afford to pay for you. and some one who can't afford to pay your bills. your house, your kids, your 100 shoes, your rings blings.

you want equal pay, equal rights? then you gotta grow the fuck up. we're always told to '"be a man'";   until you really act like an adult,  you don't deserve equal treatment.  you can't have it both ways.

but then, you'll find some john eventually to pay your way and be "happy'" with right?
