used to be that it was an affordable place for up and coming, unknown artists to live, in a starving artist lifestyle, where they could express their art. now it's completely non affordable for all but only the most famous and/or wealthy artists to live an extravagant lifestyle and sell out more of their celebrity cache so they can afford it all.
This is the first and probably ONLY time i will tell you to stop whining. Village dwellers were lucky their affordable housing lasted that long. It's New York City. Move to Topeka.
funny, didn't thinnk, for me especially, i was whining too much. more observing and commenting. but i do hate to see a neighborhood's character, culture, people, diversity etc leave for economics. artists, ethnic groups. and it's happening more and more in Manhattan
i've lived with the POOR NUT JOBS and worked with the MOST FAMOUS. lived in POVERTY and amongst the RICH. from L.A.'s ghettos to the wealthiest NY suburbs. from expecting DEATH to being regularly HIGH. i try not to write about anything that i haven't EXPERIENCED OR RESEARCHED
