Biggest Bullshit Holiday

not to seem super bitter (wink), but Valentine's wins. at least Mother and Father's day are based on real people, deeds etc. Valentine's ain't. there were a couple of St Valentines but neither had anything to do with romance, love etc. that story about one of them getting the first Valentine's card is just that.

astronomically same deal: nothing. some bs that birds start courting is just that.

where it's real? as usual with holidays, commercialism, like greeting cards, gifts etc. guilt. chicks expecting more rings things blings etc. the capitalism of love (redundant).

  1. Hey I like valentines day! ;) its a day out of the year your expected to tell people you care about how you feel about them. There isnt much of that going on the rest of the year so Im glad it's still here. Who cars what the media says. They start selling christmas stuff at halloween! Now thats a crime. What happened to waiting until after thanksgiving? Another caring holiday..

  2. by the way thanks for reading i appreciate it. good to c u too. let me know what's up with u some time--navy? family?

to me the one day of the year to do what you said is on birthdays. that's when i make the extra effort to loved ones. and couples have another advantage (as usual): anniversaries. so those are days to go all out i think.

obviously many care what the media says because the day is still around partly because of it, but more from marketers, business people, advertisers etc making loads of money off a made up holiday. and i agree with u about the Xmas crap. i still remember when the beginning of the holiday season was when you would see Santa at the end of the Macy's thanksgiving parade, and not before!
